BMW E36 325i Big brake project.

Hi all!

So this is the first post on this project. My aim is to build a proper, high quality big brake kit for my NA e36 coupe. Most likely this will consist of 4-pot brembo calipers from Porsche and vented rotors from BMW.

I will buy calipers second hand through ebay, and rebuild them. Also painting them at the same time. Depending on my wheel choice there are few different brakets for us to use. Or then we will model our own ones, and have them manufactured at a machine shop.

Biggest question for this project is going to be what style, and size of a wheels I want to put on my car. I would prefer them to be OEM-styles, and 17" with something like 8,5"-9,5" wide in the front and 8,5"-10" in the back, with the proper ET.

This car won´t be seeing huge power figures, as it will be staying NA, but still want proper brakes that I can trust on the track events. There is also possibility that I might use same calipers with different brackets on my restomod Volvo Amazon project.

My other e36 325i coupe will most likely go for 6-pot brembo´s in front and 4-pot in the rear as it will be getting 18" wheels to match it´s DTM bodywork.

Also been thinking ways to remove the cable driven handbrake and replace it with hydraulic handbrake, but so that it wouldn´t be seeing inside the cabin. For the handbrake I would go bit over kill for the looks, with 2-pot caliper.
